Bishop Edward Cridge
Please note that this page is still UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Bishop Edward Cridge appears in Chapter 1 of our Butchart Gardens History, primarily as a result of his dispute with Bishop George Hills, which resulted in Cridge breaking with the Anglican Church and becoming ordained in the Reformed Episcopal Church.
In 1875, Edward Cridge retained architect John Teague to build his new church, the Church of Our Lord, which still stands at 626 Blanshard Street, at the corner of Humboldt Street and Blanshard Street in downtown Victoria.
