John Worth Mitchell

John Worth Mitchell was one of the original investors and shareholders of the Vancouver Portland Cement Company when that company was formed in April 1905.

He became Secretary of the Vancouver Portland Cement Company.

In 1905 he also became a Director of the Alberta Portland Cement Company, which had been formed by Edward Rogers Wood.

In 1919 he became Corporate Secretary of the British Columbia Cement Company, created from the merger of the Vancouver Portland Cement Company and the Associated Cement Company (Canada) Limited.

There is a John Worth Mitchell (1876-1954) buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto. We will do additional research to determine whether this is the same John Worth Mitchell who was Corporate Secretary of the Vancouver Portland Cement Company and the British Columbia Cement Company.

The John Worth Mitchell (1876-1954) buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto was born 22 December 1876 and died 13 August 1954.
