Dr. George Mercer Dawson (1849-1902) was a Canadian government geologist who compiled a series of influential reports on Canada’s natural resources for Geological Survey of Canada.
His reports on the Kootenay region of British Columbia played a major roles in the business activities of Colonel James Baker, Peter Fernie and William Fernie.
